Calvenza-03 EIV® and Calvenza-03 EIV/EHV® are the first equine influenza vaccines to provide direct protection against the newest lineage of influenza strains.
Calvenza-03 now includes Ohio/2003 as well as Kentucky/2/95 and Newmarket/2/93. This is significant because each year The Expert Surveillance Panel on Equine Influenza Vaccines provides recommendations to vaccine manufacturers as to what they believe are the most important influenza strains to include in licensed vaccines. This recommendation is based on the future potential for influenza outbreaks within the equine industry. These vaccine updates assure that the horse population is protected against the most relevant influenza strains that potentially can harm the health of the horse.
